Ironmonger Row Baths - saving our heritage
At a recent planning meeting, council officers were delighted to hear only 1 minor objection had been recieved, and that was over valid concerns regarding controls over access to and from the site during the refurbishment works.
Councillor Polling said she was proud to have played her part in ensuring that this this wonderful building, which has been a local landmark for over 80 years, will continue to form a unique and prominent part in the heritage of this area.

24x7 Heating Restored
In an attempt to meet the targets imposed by central Government to reduce carbon emissions the Council recently reduced the period of heating cover provided to tenants from 24 to 18 hours a day - however, after listening to residents concerns, the Council have responsed by restoring heating provision from 18 hours a day back to 24.
Well done Councillor Stacy for a taking a brave decision - i would like to think this was not so much a U-Turn, but a fine example of what can be done by listening to the views of residents. |
