He has been invited back a number of times, serving as a Local Authority nominated Governor and currently serves as a Foundation governor of the joint governing body of St Luke's and Moreland Street schools. His grandchildren now attend St Luke's, and he attended Moreland St, so has a very close interest in both schools. As an IT consultant, he made sure that St Luke's was the first primary school in Islington with a computer. It then became the first school to have a computer in every classroom, and finally the first with it's own computer suite. Pete want's to ensure Islington school children gain priority access to the job opportunities being created around Old St (Silicon) roundabout. Charity WorkPete currently serves as chair of the management committees for both the Vibast Community Centre and the Redbrick Tenant Management Organisation, on the Old St estate where he has lived for the last 32 years. |
